Dining Table
by Les Succari
The Dining Table - one of the most essential pieces to a functional family home. Having to host multiple dinners, meals, conversations and more in a loving home, a fine dining table is crafted to hold memories for generations to come.
With a nod to the vibrant Nyonya culture in Penang, the tiles chosen in the middle feature the classical prints of the Nyonya patterns, which complements the Malaysian Nyatoh wood planks that surround the tiles.
Framed and mounted on a structure of Oak wood, the dining table is crafted to withstand time with its sturdy structure.
The legs, hand-planed in an octagon shape, give a multi-faceted dimension in the number 8, a lucky number in the Chinese and Nyonya culture.
Finally, to give the dining table some added character, the legs are crafted into a 'Hoof' style, with Walnut wood added to the ends; a quirky yet elegant detail to the table.
Size: 3' x 6', 76cm height.
Table Top is 6mm thin Nyatoh wood planks on a plywood base, centred with 4 ceramic tiles and Oak wood framed.
